Woman hurt in Cotabato grenade blast

John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Police are clueless on the identities of those responsible for a grenade explosion that left a 22-year-old woman wounded here Saturday.

Rasmia Baraguir was rushed to a hospital by responding police officers and barangay officials for treatment.

The attack along Sinsuat Avenue was meant for a truck owned by a supplier of construction materials, said Senior Superintendent Rolen Balquin, city police chief.

Witnesses said they saw one of two motorcycle-riding men hurl a grenade at the truck and speed away as the explosive went off.

Balquin said investigators have yet to identify the bombers and the motive for the attack.
