Guard cited for honesty

Eva Visperas - The Philippine Star

URDANETA CITY, Philippines – A security guard was recognized by the city government and the police for returning a wallet he found here.

Jame Pilisin of Asingan, Pangasinan, was given a “Sertipiko ng Papuri” for his honesty.

Pilisin found the wallet containing P14,000 cash, dollar bills and identification cards in front of a fastfood restaurant along MacArthur Highway last Nov. 16.

He turned the wallet, owned by Eufemio Eleazar of Barangay Bayaoas here, over to the city police.

Two hours later, Eleazar claimed the wallet at the police station.

“This proves that good and honest men still exist in this world,” city police chief Superintendent Jeff Fanged said.
