2 suspected drug pushers fall in Kidapawan
KIDAPAWAN City, Philippines - Police agents on Thursday nabbed two drug traffickers long wanted for large-scale distribution of shabu in 40 barangays here.
The suspects, Antonio Manogogura, 32, and Eric Orbano, 23, both from Digos City in nearby Davao del Sur, are now detained at the Kidapawan City jail.
Superintendent Franklin Anito, local police chief, said the suspects, who were riding a motorcycle on their way to the city proper from Davao del Sur, were first frisked for refusing to pull over for a routine inspection by policemen and soldiers guarding a checkpoint along a stretch of the North Cotabato-Davao City Highway.
The unsuspecting policemen in the checkpoint, later found out that they are both listed in the city government’s docket of wanted drug traffickers.
The suspects yielded shabu and drug paraphernalia to policemen that held them for interrogation.
Anito said the city police will charge the suspects with violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2000, before a local court.
