TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Police have arrested two village chiefs in Abra during a series of raids against private armed groups in Bangued town on Thursday.
Abra police director Senior Superintendent Albertlito Garcia identified the arrested officials as Amado Berras of Barangay Dugong and Mario Santiago of Barangay Agtangao.
Police also seized several guns, including an M16 Armalite rifle with a grenade launcher, seven M203 rockets, two 12-gauge shotguns, two .22 caliber rifles and two .45 caliber pistols.
