TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Over P1 million worth of shabu was seized by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and members of the local police in separate raids that also resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug traffickers this week in Cagayan.

Ariel Turingan reportedly yielded at least 39 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P238,116 following a raid in Enrile town last Wednesday.

On Monday, anti-narcotics agents arrested Larry Mabbun, who reportedly yielded 100 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P660,000 during a raid at his house Barangay Macanaya, Aparri.

Chief Inspector Mina Domingo, Aparri police chief, said the raiding team also found a caliber .45 pistol, an airsoft rifle and drug paraphernalia at Mabbun’s house.

Domingo said Mabbun had previous brushes with the law and is allegedly identified with a big-time drug ring operating in the province.

In Pampanga, PDEA agents and local police arrested five persons in a drug sting in San Fernando City on Wednesday.

Luis de Guzman, 45; Ferlizardo Manalili, 42; Felita de Guzman, 55; Danilo Dua, 42, and Merwin Sta. Maria, 22, were arrested after they allegedly sold shabu to an undercover agent in Barangay San Jose, said PDEA-3 director Jeoffrey Tacio. – Raymund Catindig, Ric Sapnu
