New power substation to rise in P’sinan
STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan – A new 100-megavolt ampere (MVA) substation of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) will soon rise in Barangay Balingueo here.
The substation, which will be completed in September next year, will supply power to the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative, Dagupan Electric Corp. and Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative.
The P173-million project, which is being constructed on a seven-hectare lot, includes one 100-MVA transformer, power circuit breakers, a 69-kiloVolt (kV) and a 230-kV switchyards and a control building.
“Pangasinan is one of the provinces with high electricity consumption. Because of improved economic activities in the area, load growth is expected. NGCP is confident it can address the province’s power needs, said NGCP president and chief executive officer Henry Sy Jr.
