MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has appointed a new deputy ombudsman for the Visayas.
Paul Elmer Clemente, who succeeded deputy ombudsman Pelagio Apostol, took his oath before Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales last week.
Clemente joined the Office of the Ombudsman in 1995 as a graft investigation officer at the Office of the Chief Legal Counsel.
He served as a director and acting assistant ombudsman until he resigned in 2006.
In 2012, he rejoined the anti-graft agency and was appointed Prosecution Officer II at the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon.
