2 dead,3 hurt as truck falls into ravine

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Two persons died while three others, including a village chairman, were injured when a truck plunged into a ravine in Pinukpuk, Kalinga last Thursday.

Reports said Vicente, 45, and Camilo, 63, both surnamed Banatao, died at the scene while their relatives village chairman Emilio, 72; Mark, 25, and Reynold, 27, were taken to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital in Tabuk City for treatment.  

The victims were on their way to deliver construction materials to Allaguia Elementary School when Emilio lost control of the wheel as they were driving down the road in Barangay Allaguia at around 2 p.m., said Police Officer 1 Amado Balingao.
