5.2 earthquake rocks Davao
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-5.2 earthquake was recorded off Davao Oriental on Saturday morning.
In a 7:19 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seisomology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the tectonic earthquake was located 67 kilometers southeast of Tarragona town at 6:54 a.m. It had a depth of 64 kilometers.
Davao City was affected by Intensity 4, or moderately strong ground shaking. Phivolcs describes Intensity 4 quakes as generally felt by people indoors.

"Light sleepers are awakened. Vibration is felt like a passing of heavy truck. Hanging objects swing considerably. Dinner, plates, glasses, windows and doors rattle," the agency said.
General Santos City, meanwhile, experienced Intensity 1 or "scarcely perceptible" tremors.
Phivolcs noted that aftershocks are expected to occur, but will cause no damages on land.
