MANILA, Philippines- Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a policeman and his accomplice during a buy-bust operation in Laguna, the PDEA said on Wednesday.
PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Police Officer 3 Lyndon Herrera, 40, currently assigned at Region 4A Intelligence Unit – Canlubang, Laguna, of New York Street corner Mississippi Street, Landmark Subdivison, Calamba; and Miguel Saludo Morfe, 38, of San Pedro 2, Malvar, Batangas.
Reports said that last November 3, around 12:30 p.m., elements of PDEA Regional Office – National Capital Region (RO-NCR) conducted a buy-bust operation at the vicinity of Mississippi Street corner New York Street, Landmark Subdivision, Calamba, Laguna which resulted in the arrest of Herrera and Morfe.
Operatives seized seven plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, a cellular phone, a Social Security System (SSS) identification card, a 9-millimeter pistol with two pieces of magazines and the P500 bill used as marked money.
Herrera and Morfe are now detained at PDEA RO-NCR jail facility, while pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA Laboratory Service, for forensic examination.
The suspects will face illegal drug raps while Hererra will be charged with an additional illegal gun possession case.
