MANILA, Philippines - The Albay provincial government released an advisory allowing residents from 31 barangays to return back to their homes on Tuesday.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) and Mayon Mayors based the recommendation to decamp on the hazard review and vulnerability update on the 6-kilometer permanent danger zone of Mayon Volcano.

"However, should there be any escalating abnormal conditions of Mayon Volcano manifested in the observation parameters as observed by PHIVOLCS, the same shall be ready for a multi-zone re-evacuation to safe evacuation camps," Albay Gov. Joey Salceda said.
Last September, the governor ordered forced evacuation of more than 30,000 residents near the volcano upon Mayon's heightened alert status.
