MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collared a policeman who went on absence without leave during a sting operation in Cagayan.
The PDEA said on Tuesday identified the suspect as Police Officer 3 Marlon Sanchez, 32, of Barangay Caggay, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Sanchez is member of the Special Weapons and Tactics, but has not reportedly for work the past weeks.
Belated reports showed that last Oct. 31, around 7:30 p.m., operatives of PDEA Regional Office 2 arrested Sanchez after he sold a plastic sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer along Rizal Street, Barangay Centro 10, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
During the operation, Sanchez also yielded one Norinco cal. 9mm with 11 pieces of live ammunition, a mobile phone, a motorcycle, and the P1,000 marked bill used as buy-bust money.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drug), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being readied for filing in court against Sanchez.
