Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - Police are now investigating the death of a former state university student, who was allegedly subjected to a fraternity hazing in Quezon province last October.

Police said that Ariel Inopre, 24, who took up Industrial Technology at the the Southern Luzon State University, died of infection and kidney failure early Sunday at the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City.

The mother of the victim told police investigators that the wound on his son's left leg started only as just a boil, but it got worse after he was subjected to a hazing last October 19 by members of the Tau Gamma Phi in Barangay Mapulot in Tagkawayan town.

Police said that the victim kept the hazing from his parents.
