11 injured in truck-van collision
MAGUINDANAO, Philippines - Eleven commuters were injured on Friday when a passenger van collided with a truck parked along a highway in Barangay Alamada in Sultan Kudarat town in the province.
Chief Inspector Esmail Madin of the Sultan Kudarat municipal police said the injured passengers of the air-conditioned van from Davao City were rushed by responding barangay officials to a hospital for medication.
Madin said the driver of the ill-fated van was also hurt. .
He said witnesses noticed the van wiggled first before hitting the truck parked along the highway.
So strong was the collision that the van was thrown away, turned-turtle and landed at one side of the thoroughfare.
Madin said the owner of the van is helping attend to the needs of the 11 injured passengers, mostly residents of Cotabato City.
