MANILA, Philippines - The wife of Davao City police chief Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr. filed a criminal complaint before the Department of Justice yesterday against her husband for alleged physical and verbal abuse of her and their children.
In a 12-page complaint, Susie Danao sought the indictment of her husband for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.
The complaint stated that Danao committed the abuses from 2002 to 2013.
“My children are getting old and I am afraid that if my husband continues with his violent ways and marital infidelity, he would destroy the future of our children that I helped build through my years of working as an OFW (overseas Filipino worker),” read the complaint.
She earlier filed an administrative case against her husband.
Gabriela party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan accompanied Mrs. Danao in filing the complaint.
