Wife files VAWC complaint vs Davao police chief

MANILA, Philippines - The wife of the Davao City police chief on Wednesday filed before the Department of Justice criminal charges against her husband for allegedly beating her and their children up.
Susie Danao, accompanied by Gabriela partylist Rep. Luz Ilagan, went to the DOJ main office in Manila to file violations of Republic Act 9262 o Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004 against her husband, Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao.
In her complaint, Mrs. Danao claimed that she and her children suffered both verbal and physical abuses from the police official from 2003 until 2013.
She previously filed a case against her husband before the Philippine National Police Regional Internal Affairs Service.
