Isabela mayor’s house razed

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – At least P5 million worth of property went up in smoke in a fire that razed an ancestral home of Mayor Antonio Miro Jr. of San Pablo, Isabela Saturday night.

Town police chief Inspector Alford Accad said the house in Barangay Poblacion was occupied by the family of Miro’s uncle, Eduardson Tumaliuan, also a former town mayor.

The blaze, reportedly sparked by an unattended candle, started at around 6:30 p.m. and was contained almost two hours later.

No one was reported injured or killed in the incident.
