2 police officers slain in Bulacan
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Unidentified assailants shot dead two police officers in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan on Wednesday.
Police Officers 2 Arsil Asali Nasir and Police Officer 1 Freddie Claro were found dead with gunshot wounds in the head and body in Sitio Gulod, Barangay Minuyan Proper.
The two were members of the San Jose del Monte City police station, said Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director.
The area where the police officers were found is said to be a haven for illegal drug traffickers.
Investigators recovered from the crime scene bullet shells for caliber .45 and 9mm pistols.
Records show that Claro was facing a dismissal case for grave misconduct, direct assault, illegal possession of firearms and grave threats. The case is under appeal. – Ric Sapnu, Cecille Suerte Felipe
