MANILA, Philippines - Police operatives arrested four suspected drug traffickers during a sting operation in Taguig City, seizing around 4 kilos of shabu estimated at P12 million.
Members of the Philippine National Police-Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force nabbed Larex Pepino, the alleged leader of the drug ring; and his accomplices Jayborn Ruira, Jahar Radin and Nelson Conarco, a radio report said Thursday.
The report said that undercover operatives conducted the buy-bust operation along Bayani Road, Western Bicutan, Taguig City where a police asset managed to buy an initial 400 grams of shabu, with a street value of P500,000, from the suspects.
After sealing the transaction, anti-narcotics agents arrested the suspects, who yielded nine more plastic bags containing illegal drugs inside their vehicle, the report said.
Police said the suspects could be members of a big time drug ring operating in the south eastern part of Metro Manila and nearby cities.
