MANILA, Philippines - The military will help the police search for the wife of Camarines Norte Gov. Edgardo Tallado and her aide, who have been missing since last week.
Lt. Col. Medel Aguilar, chief of the Army’s 49th Infantry Battalion, said they would help the “Task Force Josie,” a team formed to locate Josefina Tallado and her aide Darlene Francisco.
Josefina and her aide were last seen heading for Vinzons town in a Toyota Fortuner last Friday.
Authorities found the Fortuner in Barangay Napulidan in Lupi, Camarines Sur on Saturday. A burned umbrella was recovered inside the vehicle.
The governor on Monday appealed to those holding his wife and her friend captive to spare the women.
Tallado said his family has no known enemy.
