MANILA, Philippines - Some 300 agrarian reform beneficiaries in three municipalities of Quirino, Isabela received a P1.2-million livelihood grant from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
The DAR, through the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting program of the government, signed a memorandum of agreement with Mayor Rosario Camma of Nagtipunan and Chairman Pedro Pandongit of the Quirino Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative for a wood furniture-making project worth P200,000, according to a statement issued yesterday.
Mayor Renato Ylanan of Maddela and Chairman Jonel Cabungcal of Cofcaville Upland Farmers Association also signed an agreement for a muscovado sugar production project worth P679,000.
DAR regional director Marjorie Ayson said the agency also extended a P300,000 grant to the Del Pilar Women’s Club in the municipality of Cabarroguis for their crunchy corn production business.
