MANILA, Philippines - Police operatives arrested three people, including a suspected leader of a crime group responsible for the kidnapping of a Chinese businesswoman in July last year, during a raid in Pasay City.
Agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group and Abra Criminal Investigation and Detection Group nabbed Reccinte Padillo, the alleged leader of the Padillo kidnap-for-ransom group, at Pinecrest 1, Newport Residential Resort Pasay City on Thursday night.
Police operatives also nabbed Padillo's live-in partner, Yasmin Cruz; and, his driver-bodyguard, Ivan Estrella.
Cruz and Estrella both have standing warrants of arrest for the crime of large scale estafa.
Padillo has a standing arrest warrant issued by Judge Bernelito Fernandez of Regional Trial Court Branch 97, Quezon City for a case of kidnapping.
Police said that Padillo's group is responsible for the kidnapping of businesswoman Sally Chua last July 5, 2013 in Quezon City
The group brought Chua to Davao City where she was rescued by the police.
