Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

LAGUNA, Philippines – Two alleged members of a drug syndicate were killed in an alleged gunfight with policemen during an anti-illegal drug operation in Biñan, Tuesday night.

Superintendent Noel Aliño, city police chief, identified the fatalities as Roanino Guan, alias Jun, 45, and Fernando Sison.

Police recovered several guns, various identification cards and ammunition at the scene.

Aliño said the slain suspects were tagged in the murder of Inspector Jerry Uy two years ago.

Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao, Laguna police director, said at least 27 persons, including five women were also arrested during a raid on suspected drug dens in Barangay Canlalay, San Vicente and San Antonio.
