Zambales bell tower inaugurated

The Philippine Star

STA. CRUZ, Zambales, Philippines – A new bell tower of St. Michael the Archangel parish in this town was recently inaugurated.

“This bell tower project is a dream come true for the more than 60,000 predominantly Catholic inhabitants of this vibrant first-class town,” parish priest Emmanuel Jose Montes said during its formal dedication.

The ceremony was presided by San Fernando Archbishop Florentino Lavarias.

Montes acknowledged private sector support for the project, which started in August 2013.

He cited LNL Archipelago Minerals Inc., a nickel mining company, which was among the major sponsors. The mining firm provided the engineering design and gave a P1-million donation to the parish.

The mining company also partners with town officials and the private sector for the implementation of a Socialized Development Management Program in the communities where it operates.
