Thunderstorm floods areas in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines - The heavy downpour on Tuesday afternoon left many streets in Metro Manila flooded and impassable to light vehicles.
In an advisory sent by the Southern Police District, the following areas were monitored as being flooded and impassable to light vehicles: Evangelista Street, Bangkal
Malugay, Mayapis, Gil Puyat (Buendia), Jupiter, Paseo de Roxas, Dela Rosa, South Superhighway, Pasong Tamo, Herrera, P. Medina and Pasay Road.
The SPD also reported that the downpour which started around 3 p.m. and lasted for over an hour, also flooded Pasong Tamo extension tunnel making it impassable to all types of vehicles.
Meanwhile, gutter-deep flood was reported by the SPD at Zobel Roxas, JP Rizal and at Gil Puyat-South Superhighway.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), meanwhile reported in its Twitter account that as of 4:28 p.m., the Osmena Highway-Gil Puyat (Buendia) area and South Superhighway were flooded and were not passable to all types of vehicles.
The MMDA also reported gutter-deep flooding at the EDSA-Quezon Avenue (northbound lanes) area, knee-deep flooding at Timog Avenue and gutter-deep flooding at P. Tuazon-EDSA, EDSA-Shaw and EDSA-Orense.
Several areas in Manila were also flooded due to the sudden downpour.
