MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Rail Transit's operations were temporarily disrupted again on Tuesday morning due to a damaged track between the northbound lane of Santolan and Ortigas stations.
A speeding train detected the damaged track at 5:47 a.m., briefly stopping its trip.
The trains were only allowed from Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City up to Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
Commuters who queued at the North Avenue in Quezon City were forced to come out of the station and ride the buses along Edsa due to the train stoppage.
Normal operations of the MRT trains resumed at 6:41 a.m.
Last October 2, the operations of the railway system was also limited to Shaw Boulevard and North Avenue due to a damaged track.
On August 13, several passengers got hurt after an MRT train overshoot the tracks the Taft Avenue Station.
