BATANGAS, Philippines – Three people died and three others were injured when a car hit a mango tree along the national highway in Nasugbu town in this province Thursday morning, police said yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Omega Jireh Fidel, Batangas police director, identified the fatalities as Bernardo delos Santos, Arjay delos Santos and Carla Pamplona, all residents of Barangay Real in Calamba City, Laguna.
Jubelle delos Santos, Hazel delos Santos and Roy Villalobos, who were brought to the Apacible Memorial District Hospital and Gabes Medical Center, were reported to be out of danger.
Initial investigation showed that the victims, who were in a Toyota Corolla (UPC-214), were on their way to Calaca when the driver, Villalobos, lost control of the wheel and hit a mango tree.
Bernardo, Arjay and Carla, who were backseat passengers, were thrown toward the windshield due to the impact of the collision.
