Magnitude 5.7 quake hits Antique; 'very strong' intensity felt

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.7 earthquake struck Antique on Friday afternoon and it was strongly felt in several areas in the province.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 4:05 p.m.
The epicenter of the tremor, which was tectonic in origin, was located at five kilometers southeast of Culasi, Antique. It had a depth of 14 kilometers.
Several areas felt the following intensities:
- Intensity VI (very strong) - Culasi, Antique
- Intensity V (strong) - Kalibo, Aklan; Sebaste,Pandan, Lauan and Libertad (Antique)
- Intensity IV (moderately strong) - San Jose, Sibalom and San Remegio (Antique)
- Intensity III - La Carlota City; Roxas City; Ilo-ilo City
- Intensity II - Cebu City
- Intensity I - Zamboanga City
Phivolcs said aftershocks and damage are expected.
