Policewoman, 2 others nabbed in CDO drug bust

MANILA, Philippines - Authorities arrested a policewoman and two of her accomplices during a buy bust operation in Cagayan de Oro City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Friday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Senior Police Officer 1 Nancy Peralta, 44, assigned at Police Station 5, Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City; Rodel Castillon, 35, and Arlen Lindongan, 34, a female. All are residents of Block 12 Lot 38, Silver Creek Subdivision, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
Peralta is allegedly a member of transporter drug group operating in Cagayan de Oro City, Cacdac said.
Reports said last Sept. 30, around 10:30 a.m., operatives of PDEA Regional Office 10, with officers from Cagayan de Oro City Intelligence Branch, arrested the three after they sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer in their residence in Silver Creek Subdivision.
The suspects also yielded an additional 15 sachets containing shabu weighing roughly 15 grams and several drug paraphernalia.
Charges are being prepared for filing in court against them for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
