ILOILO CITY, Philippines – Two brothers were killed in an attack by motorcycle-riding men in Calinog, Iloilo Saturday.
Nestor Salvalosa, 53, and his brother Balvino, 51, of Barangay Mambiranan, died at the scene from multiple bullet wounds.
The victims, who were carpenters, were heading toward the town proper on a motorcycle when they were waylaid in Barangay Cabugao.
Witnesses said the gunmen, who were both wearing bonnets, changed clothes as they were fleeing.
One of the suspects reportedly got off in Barangay Inpalidan.
Nestor’s son, Kenneth, said his father has no known enemy, though his uncle Balvino had been charged for murder in 2003.
Kenneth said Balvino was released from jail following an amicable settlement with the victim’s family.
