Quake hits Catanduanes

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook the province of Catanduanes shortly after midnight yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

No casualty or damage to property was immediately reported.

Phivolcs said the epicenter of the tremor, which struck a 12:16 a.m. was located 43 kilometers north of Virac.

The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Virac and Intensity 2 in the nearby Caramoan town.

Also yesterday weak quakes with magnitudes 3.7 and 3.3 were recorded in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.
