1 dead, 30 hurt in Bataan road mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A person was killed and 30 others were injured when a service bus of a Korean company collided with an LPG tanker along Roman Superhighway in Barangay Lamao, Limay, Bataan yesterday morning.

Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, officer-in-charge of the Bataan police, identified the fatality as Alex Mungcal, 43, the driver of the tanker.

 He said 19 passengers of the bus were brought to the Limay Emergency Hospital and 11 to the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.

Initial investigation showed that the truck was on its way to Liquigaz in Mariveles, Bataan when it hit the bus transporting workers of a Korean company at past 6 a.m.

Some of the workers reportedly jumped from the bus.

Police are still investigating the incident.
