Victory’s 16 buses suspended

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sixteen buses of transportation firm Victory Liner Inc. have been suspended for 30 days following a vehicular accident along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) last Monday.

The suspension order was signed by Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Winston Ginez and board members Ariel Inton and Ronaldo Corpuz yesterday.

Inton said the suspended franchise covers 16 buses, including the one that figured in the accident on NLEX in Pampanga.

The bus conductor died after the vehicle slammed into a 14-wheeler truck.

The LTFRB will confiscate the license plates of the buses covered by the suspended franchise today.

The board is investigating the accident to determine whether the company deserves a heavier penalty. The company’s bus drivers will be required to undergo drug tests, Inton said.
