DIPOLOG CITY, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines – A two-hour fire gutted the two-story schools division office here Monday night, destroying properties, supplies and equipment estimated at P20 million.
Schools Superintendent Natividad Bayubay said the fire destroyed computers, tables, printers, instructional devices, books and safety bolts which contained teachers’ unreleased checks worth P4 million.
She appealed for financial assistance from the Department of Education’s central office for the immediate construction of their new office.
Dipolog City fire marshall Senior Inspector Richard Timosa said the fire also damaged several houses behind the division office.
