Butuan raid nets 2 drug suspects

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Two alleged drug traffickers were arrested in a raid on a suspected drug den in this city Sunday.

Gani Balindong alias Marvin and “Bryan” and his companion Fernando Besande were nabbed at their house in Barangay Ong Yiu, said Senior Inspector Sandro Bantad Santillan, officer-in-charge of the city police.

Santillan said the suspects’ arrest stemmed from a warrant issued by Butuan Judge Augustus Calo.

The raiding team seized from the suspects 58 plastic sachets said to contain shabu, a caliber .38 revolver and caliber .45 pistol, bullets and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the city police detention cell as charges are readied against them.
