ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - The Philippine Navy's warship arrived in Zamboanga City on Monday morning after almost three weeks of participation at the biennial multilateral naval exercise dubbed as “Kakadu” of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) last month.

The Filipino frigate BRP Ramon Alcaraz PF 16 docked about 8 a.m. at the newly expanded international port of the Philippine Port Authority (PPA) wharf as its first home port in the country after coming from an international naval exercise in Northern Australia. The warship engaged in the naval exercise from August 25 to September 12.

Lt. Commander Marineth Domingo, Navy public affairs chief, said the Filipino warship, before returning to the country, first made its port call to Indonesia.

Domingo said the Filipino warship will have its “show the flag” activity as it homeports in Zamboanga City and make its way back to Subic, Zambales.

Domingo said while in the city, the warship will be open to the local populace for a tour aboard the ship.

She said the navy’s second navy frigate class might undergo the regular check at Subic before its next deployment.
