Rice dealer caught peddling shabu in Palawan

MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents arrested a rice dealer during a sting operation in Palawan, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Monday.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the arrested suspect Ramy Jalandoni, a resident of Barangay Antipulua, Narra town, is a listed drug personality.

Cacdac said Jalandoni was arrested by by PDEA operatives in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 4, Poblacion in Roxas town at around 7 p.m. last September 15. He was caught selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover agent.

When frisked, the suspect also yielded two large sachets of shabu weighing approximately 50 grams.

Jalandoni will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
