MANILA, Philippines - State seismologists continued to record low-intensity earthquakes in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato yesterday following a magnitude-5 tremor that hit the area on Saturday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said quakes of magnitudes 3.4, 3.1 and 3.7 struck Kidapawan City at 12:37 a.m., 1:49 a.m. and 6:53 a.m., respectively.
The epicenter of the magnitude-3.4 tremor was located 17 kilometers southwest of Kinapawan City. It was reportedly felt at Intensity 3.
Phivolcs said the magnitudes 3.1 and 3.7 had the same epicenter, which was 16 km southwest of Kidapawan.
The temblors were felt at Intensity 2 and Intensity 3.
Last Saturday, a magnitude-5 tremor rocked Kidapawan City, destroying 70 houses and a chapel.
