Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A suspected member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) has been arrested at his safehouse in Tunawan town, Zamboanga Sibugay, security officials said yesterday.

Haylol Sakinal reportedly admitted that he was a member of the MNLF, said Senior Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, spokesman for Police Regional Office 9.

Samuddin said Sakinal was arrested in Barangay Tigpalay at dawn Thursday, based on a warrant for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

The arresting team recovered from the suspect’s possession a .45 caliber pistol, a blasting cap, three machetes, seven MNLF flags and a jungle knife.

The suspect is being held at the Zamboanga Sibugay provincial office.
