MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolted Tawi-Tawi yesterday morning.
The quake was not expected to cause damage to life or property, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, was recorded at 8:26 a.m. Its epicenter was located 51 kilometers southeast of South Ubian town. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Bongao town and Intensity 1 in Zamboanga City.
