Alleged NPA leader falls
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – An alleged commander of the New People’s Army was arrested here Thursday night.
Victoriano Dimco, 41, was arrested at a house in Barangay Puerto by a team from the Misamis Oriental provincial police.
Dimco, who was brought to the Maharlika police headquarters in this city, said the policemen handcuffed him when he admitted that he was “Ka Berting.” He said he returned to the folds of the law in 2007.
The team said Dimco’s arrest was based on a warrant issued by the regional trial court in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Dimco admitted he was the vice chairman of the NPA’s South Eastern Command 3, which operated in Bukidnon.
He said he surrendered in 2007 in Malaybalay but his surrender papers have yet to be processed. He denied he is an NPA commander.
Dimco said he had been working at a construction project in Puerto for the past five months.
