COTABATO CITY, Philippines - A municipal doctor and a policeman from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) were among the recipient of this year’s national Dangal ng Bayan Award from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Awardees from across the country will receive their individual trophies and cash rewards in a symbolic rite in Metro Manila anytime this month, according to sources from the CSC's field office for ARMM.

Physician Jubaira Isnain, chief of the district hospital in Parang municipality in Sulu, and a Tausog policeman, PO3 Saldon Arajil, who is assigned in Taguig City, bagged the vaunted CSC award for their dedication and meritorious performance as civil servants.

In a statement Friday, the ARMM’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI) said Arajil hails from Maimbung, a coastal town in Sulu, a component province of ARMM.

Isnain has been working as government physician for 25 years now, according to the BPI-ARMM.

The CSC’s annual search for outstanding public officials and employees is meant to honor civil servants with good service record and exemplary behavior in discharging public functions.

Awardees will receive a trophy designed by Napoleon Abueva, who is national artist for sculpture, and a P250,000 cash reward.
