P6-M pirated DVDs seized in Lucena

LUCENA CITY, Philippines - Authorities seized some P6 million worth of pirated digital video and compact discs in a raid here last Friday.

The raid along Recto, Merchan, Zamora and Enriquez streets was conducted by the police and agents of the Optical Media Board led by Chairman Ronnie Ricketts.

Quezon police director Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Ylagan said the raiding team seized 50 sacks of fake DVDs and CDs.

Rickets said the confiscated items were estimated to be worth P6 million.

He urged the public to call the OMB hotline (02) 373-6829 to report sale of pirated discs in their areas.
