Floods hit 4 Maguindanao towns

John Unson - The Philippine Star

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – Torrential rains over the weekend caused rivers to overflow and inundate farmlands in four towns in the province, officials said yesterday.

Reports reaching the Humanitarian Emergency Assistance and Response Team office of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) said thousands of families in Mamasapano, Montawal, Pagalungan and Sultan Kudarat were affected.

The ARMM’s agriculture department is still validating reports of crop damage.
