Ex-soldier shot dead in drinking spree
MANILA, Philippines - A 47-year-old former soldier was fatally shot while having a drinking spree with friends in Barangay Southside in Makati City on Wednesday night.
A report reaching the Makati Police identified the victim as Teodorico Estacio, of Mt. Punatubo St. Palar Village, Makati City.
Initial investigation showed that Estacio was drinking with his friends Jerry Garvino and Ronilo Hedriano at about 8:40 p.m. along Mt. Apo Extension when the shooting happened.
Investigation showed that the still-unidentified gunman armed with a caliber. 45 pistol approached the victim from behind and shot him twice at close range.
Police said Estacio was shot in the right temple and right side of the neck. Police said Estacio died on the spot while the gunman fled on foot.
Responding police officers recovered two slugs and two spent shells fire from a caliber .45 pistol.
Investigators are still determining the motive behind the fatal shooting.
