CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines – A city and 13 towns in Nueva Ecija and Aurora will suffer from 11-hour rotating blackouts today, according to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).
Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP regional corporate communication officer, said the power outages will start at 7 a.m. and will last up to 6 p.m. today.
To be affected are Palayan City and the Nueva Ecija towns of Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, Llanera, Rizal, Talavera and portions of Sto. Domingo, and the Aurora towns of Baler, Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, San Luis and Dingalan.
Vidal said maintenance work will be made along the Cabanatuan-Baler 69-kilovolt line, requiring the shutdown of the grid’s transmission facilities in the areas covered by the Nueva Ecija 2 Electric Cooperative Inc.- Area 1, Nueva Ecija 2 Electric Cooperative Inc.-Area 2, and Aurora Electric Cooperative.
Vidal said the grid’s operations are expected to return to normal after the maintenance work is completed.
