MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents on Friday nabbed two suspected members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILG) in a dragnet in Parang town staged with the help of barangay officials.
Raffy Salilama, and his accomplice, Urak Salazar, did not resist arrest when operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency cuffed them both after receiving the marked money as payment for shabu, or methamphetamine, procured by poseur-buyers.
The suspects yielded a handgun and shabu in sealed sachets, according to investigators.
They also turned in MILF identification cards indicating they both belong to the group.
The regional office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Parang municipal police office will jointly charge the duo with violation of the Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before a local court on Monday.
