20 computers lost in school break-in

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Apparently taking advantage of heavy rains, robbers broke into a public high school in the remote Isabela town of Quezon last Sunday and carted away 20 desktop computers worth P250,000, police said.

Senior Inspector June Balisi, Quezon police chief, said the robbery at Barucboc National High School, located seven kilometers from the town proper, was discovered by teacher James Amoy, who maintains a garden in the school premises, Monday morning.

Investigators said the robbers gained entry by destroying the window grills at the back of the computer room.

Balisi said they have placed under investigation a security guard and the school’s caretaker.
