2 men killed in Makati village in two days

MANILA, Philippines - Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents in a barangay in Makati City on Monday and early Tuesday.

Reports reaching the Makati City Police identified the first victim as Matti Santos Jr. Police said Santos’ body was found floating on a creek along Magnolia Street at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The other victim was identified by police as Edward Sumergido, 38, a resident of Zone 7, Mini Park, Fort Bonifacio.

Police said Sumergido was shot by an unidentified suspect at about 3:30 p.m. last Monday along Pipit Street near the Ususan Bridge. The suspect fled after the shooting and is now being tracked down by police.

Police said Sumergido was rushed by responding motorcycle patrol policemen to the nearby Ospital ng Makati but later died during treatment.
