9 mountain climbers rescued

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Nine mountaineers who had been reported missing were rescued at the foot of Mt. Pico de Loro in Ternate, Cavite on Monday morning.

Reports reaching to the Office of Civil Defense-Region 4-A said the group lost its way while traversing Mt. Marami Sunday night.

Rescued were Marlon Torres, Raquel Calusin, Mark Baliancila, Raymund Esperida, Montenza Peeta Jaye, Myke Zarsadias, Bojz Pilande, John Gridlock Paglinnasan, and Marlou Batiarisan. No one was reported injured.

A six-man joint team of the Philippine Red Cross-Cavite chapter and OCD-Region 4-A conducted the rescue.
